Testimonials
"Our relationship with Jon from the beginning - before we even contracted his services - was an asset. He reviewed our land choice and directed us to the appropriate county resources to begin the process of building our home. He gave us sound advice and was always available.
Jon uses quality sub-contractors - at times waiting for "the best" to complete other jobs, not wanting to compromise quality for speed. The details in our home reflect the pride of workmanship he feels.
Our home is our dream. We navigated many decisions and choices along the way with Jon and never felt the slightest pressure to do anything other than what we wanted. Jon contributed many valued ideas and suggestions along the way and was completely open and flexible in accomplishing all we wanted. We truly felt like partners on this project.
We appreciated Jon's honesty and straightforward approach to business. We knew where we were at financially every step of the way. Extra costs accrued, as a result of our choices, were never a surprise, but discussed in advance.
We especially appreciate the unexpected bonus of a lasting friendship. We continue to rely on Jon's advice and support with building contacts and talk with him on a regular basis.
We love our home. We'd do it all over again tomorrow with Jon." — Raymond & Denise Hegge
Testimonials
I used Norse Custom Homes for a partially finished room over my garage of about 600 square feet. It was being used as a large storage area. Jim and his crew turned it into great guest quarters. From Electric, plumbing, septic, to fit and finish everything was well done. They installed/made a kitchen area, closet, bathroom with toilet/sink areas separated a shower stall. There were issues with the original construction but they upgraded/fixed everything. I have used them numerous times since for other upgrades and repairs on my property. Jim, Norse, and their crew are top notch. I have recommended them to and they have been used by numerous friends. - Stan Blaszak

Testimonials
I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Norse Custom Homes for just over two years to build my dream house. After speaking with other local builders and contractors from around the KP/surrounding areas, Norse Custom Homes was the only one that I felt was going to be committed to my custom home project based on their high level of responsiveness, patience with me and my relentlessness barrage of questions, and detailed overview of the process and what to expect. Some additional key items that led me to choose them were they have a very narrow focus and specialty in custom home builds, were happy to provide references, they have existed for quite some time, are a family operated business, active in the local community, and have a set of preferred subcontractors that are used. As they are a cost-plus builder, there is no incentive to cut corners due to a price ceiling. The bid format was easy to understand with line items detailing the dollar amount for ever dollar projected to be spent along with the itemized list for many of the components to be used with a fair amount of room for adjusts to be made for the more discretionary items. There was never a block box as to what my money was being spent on. During the build, I was given suggestions or possible alternatives for design choices that would be of interest to me or to avoid extra costs(such as maximizing floor space, more optimal window placement, etc). More importantly, they know the “do’s and don’t s” and stopped(as in told me you really should not do that) me from making decisions I would have come to regret. Rather than proceed with something that I verbally requested that should have been a minor cost adjustment, Jim first would double check with me, which at one point saved me an extra $60,000 roof surprise as we thought the initial numbers would be far lower. The chosen subcontractors put great pride into their workmanship(beyond them not wanting to redo work) and used good judgment when plans were not clear on something or contacted myself/Jim when something seemed off with confirmation on how to proceed. This was especially true during framing as following the plans as drawn would have resulted in window placements being place in odd locations. I never felt any of the end results yielded a “not my job” touch, from the initial dirt work to the final painting. While plans did not call for nor require it, higher quality build materials and decisions were used throughout the build and are evident in the finished product. Many aspects of my home exceed local building codes(which are already strict). This includes higher grade framing lumber & sub-floors, insulation of interior walls, crawlspace access from outside, 400A service – extra features to enhance the longevity, functionality, and comfort that are often afterthoughts for the average person. The end result for myself is an extremely comfortable home and enough power to run all of my projects. Oversights and other problems during the build will always happen and they did happen for me(such as needing to replace the water line to the wellhead). They were addressed timely without impacting the remainder of the build regardless if they were raised by myself or noticed by someone else. As they are a custom home builder, every minor detail to the color of the concrete to the shape of the deck is something I wanted and they were able to provide. The end result is home that is unique to exactly how I wanted it. If you have the budget, it can happen. Throughout the process and even after closing, I felt Norse was genuinely interested in my vision and dream that I was building. I’ve already recommended them to others and will continue to do so. If I have a future project, I know who to contact. "Leonard Lawton"
"We had the most positive, wonderful experience in working with Jon during all phases of construction. The pride he shows in the tremendous quality of his product is matched by his reliability and accessibility. He was always responsive to our calls, our requests, and questions. Jon accommodated the changes that we wanted in an efficient, detailed, and expert fashion.
If we decide to build another custom house, we will go back to Norse Custom Homes and hire Jon Liljegren again. He works in conjunction with his clients, knowing that what he is building for them is not simply a house, but their dream." — Cheri & Jeff Helsdon
